The 2018 Pommard Les Croix Noires 1er Cru seems to have the upper hand over Boillot’s Les Fremiers at the moment. It has a lovely black currant, raspberry and pressed flower bouquet that is both focused and well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, more red than black fruit and notes of sage and clove toward the finish, which fans out nicely. This is a very fine Pommard from Louis Boillot.
